Vietnam, an alternative to US–China trade war –The United States just proposed its third round of tariffs and may increase the import tariff rate from 10% to a maximum of 25% on USD200 billion worth of Chinese products. This may cover the textile and garment production in near future. A lot of international investors are already shifting to or expanding their textile and garment production in Vietnam.
Vietnam’s garment and textile export reached USD16.5 billion in the first half of 2018 and needs to import at least 10 billion of fabric and other accessories for production annually to cope with this production demand.
